The Bible: We believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God, absolutely authoritative,
infallible, and inerrant.
The Godhead: We believe in one God existing in three persons: Father, Son, and The
Holy Spirit, coequal and eternal.
The Deity of Jesus Christ: We believe that Jesus Christ is the image of the invisible God,
which is to say He is God in human flesh.
Salvation: We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in Christ as the Savior
who shed His blood and bore our sins in His body on the cross.
Resurrection of Christ: We believe Jesus Christ rose from the dead in the body in which
He was crucified.
The Holy Spirit: We believe in the deity, person and work of the Holy Spirit to
regenerate, indwell, eternally keep and control all believers.
The Great Commission: We believe that the Church is an elect company of believers
commissioned by Jesus Christ to make disciples of all nations by evangelizing the lost
and edifying the saved.
The Second Coming of Christ: We believe in the personal, imminent, bodily return of
our Lord Jesus Christ, and in His millennial reign.
The Eternal State: we believe in Heaven as the eternal home of the redeemed and in
Hell as the place of everlasting conscious torment and punishment for the unredeemed.

"Being Confident of this very thing that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it
until the day of Jesus Christ."
In the early 1970's a small group of Believers, under the direction of Pastor Edward
Hanson, bought the United Methodist Church building for around $8000. Through
much prayer and guidance from Pastor Hanson, this small body became the Community
Christian Church of Athens, Vermont.
Dr. Hanson has served our group from 1967 thru 1987 when he retired at the age of
80. Today he is our Pastor Emeritus at the age of 102, still attending services, writing
letters, and praying diligently. In June of 1988 Dr. Harold Noyes became our pastor
and continues to this day. Both Pastor Hanson and Pastor Noyes have seen the work
grow spiritually, numerically, as well as physically.
We have gone through many renovations and additions over the last 35+ years and trust
we will continue until The Lord Jesus returns. We are a mixture of young and old, both
in years of age and terms of service to our Lord. Please come and worship with us and
see what God has done, is doing, and will do to His Glory.
